Clean air applications including HVAC, Air Handling Units

The D90 range of Plug Fans, offer a practical and economical design alternative for air handling and conditioning systems. They feature an unhoused impeller that installs directly within a plenum, thereby eliminating the downstream discharge. The fan can be installed either horizontally or vertically. Without the conventional scroll, the Plug Fan provides the required performance in less space. It is ideal for use in built-up units and factory built air handling units. They are also ideal for retro fit applications where the system performance needs to be expanded and additional space is not available. The impeller is a specialized European design and includes a rotating diffuser which improves the efficiency of the fan while reducing noise levels.

Impellers are fully welded to deliver structural integrity and operational longevity. Material gauges for each impeller size have been modelled using finite element analysis. Spun steel impeller cones optimise air flow while precision balancing assures dependable vibration free operation. Precision shafts are of machined, ground and polished SAE 1040 to 1045 Steel. Heavy duty SKF or similar self-aligning ball or roller type bearings are used as standard. Fans are supplied with powder coat finish as standard.

The quick selection chart (opposite page) enables the selection of the most efficient fan for a given duty. To determine the most efficient fan size, locate the intersection of the required volume (m3/s) and static pressure (Pascals) on the graph. The size to the rightof this point is the correct selection.
